Rebranding & Website Overhaul for Connecting Cultures Mobile Museum
When Connecting Cultures Mobile Museum sought to amplify its digital presence, I spearheaded a comprehensive rebranding and website overhaul designed to enhance communication with its diverse audiences—students, schools, and donors. This project focused on updating the overall branding, refining the user experience (UX), and crafting a platform that better communicated the nonprofit’s mission while driving engagement.
Brand Refresh & Strategy
Maintaining Visual Identity: While the established logo remained unchanged, I infused the brand with new energy by selecting a playful color palette and fonts that complemented the existing identity. These choices brought a sense of vibrancy while aligning with the museum’s educational focus.
Design Innovation: To manage the busy and colorful displays and photography that characterize the mobile museum, I introduced a unique color bar treatment. This element unified the various photos throughout the site, grounding the visuals and helping visitors focus on key images. The bars were strategically used to reduce visual clutter, ensuring that the content was easier to digest without losing the rich, diverse imagery that is central to the museum’s narrative.
Website Overhaul
Responsive Design: I redesigned the website from the ground up to ensure full responsiveness across all devices, optimizing performance on desktops, tablets, and mobile phones. The new site was built to be seamless and intuitive, enabling all visitors to easily access information and engage with the nonprofit’s offerings.
Clear Communications & Calls to Action: I restructured the website to offer clearer communications, incorporating strategic calls to action that guide users based on their relationship with the museum. Whether the visitor was a participant looking for program information or a donor ready to contribute, I made it simple to navigate and support the mission.
Streamlined UX & Improved Usability: To improve usability, I designed simple forms and refined the overall UX flow. This made it easier for users to sign up for programs, learn about upcoming events, and donate. In addition, I incorporated quotes and stories to showcase the impact the museum has on students and schools, helping to emotionally engage visitors and convey the value of the program.
